St Ives – Other times throughout the year
If the hustle and bustle and crowds of St Ives in the summer months aren’t for you, St Ives has so much to offer throughout the year and each season brings with it new and exciting things to do and see.
September in St Ives has the renowned September festival that in 2020 will run from 12th September to the 26th September. Galleries are open, there is free street entertainment, bands and live music every night in the pubs plus the Guildhall offers well known stage acts.
November in St Ives offers a great time to visit. The town becomes quieter but the shops and restaurants are still open and very busy during the weekends. There is also the new St Ives Shanty Shout which this year will be on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st November. Hosted by St Ives very own Bamaluz Bootleggers. Over 20 shanty singing groups from as far away as Yorkshire adorn the pubs throughout the 2 days to raise money for Cornish charities.
December is a must come to St Ives month. The St Ives in December itinerary is packed full. From Father Christmas arriving by lifeboat, the lantern parade throughout the town, late night shopping under the beautifully lit and magical lights of Fore Street. There is a choice of fantastic independent shops offering clothing to unique gifts. Obviously the Christmas week is busy culminating with the world famous New Years Eve celebrations.
Come January and February St Ives becomes quieter but what a fantastic time to visit. Go for a bracing walk along our beaches, head back into town for hot chocolate of fresh food lunch, back out again in the afternoon to keep an eye out for the large pods of dolphins that have been spotted this year.
So in conclusion, St Ives is a year long place to visit, every month has its benefits. We look forward to seeing you
